Volvo Group Information Technology
The primary responsibility of Volvo Group IT is to be a Group CIO function; a Group Function for managing, sourcing and delivering IT Solutions and Services and a Group Function for Consulting. Volvo Group IT’s business concept is to manage complex IT systems. IT delivers solutions for all segments of the industrial process and provides unique expertise in product lifecycle management, SAP solutions and IT operation for the Volvo Group.
The headquarters of Volvo Group Information Technology is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Being part of the Global Organization, the base of Volvo Group Information Technology China is in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jinan and Linyi, where the customers are. Position
Application Support / Developer / Tester (for Graduate)
Work Location: Tianjin
Role (Purpose of the job)
Three positions are available for fresh graduate:
1) IT Service Support: to provide daily IT support and maintenance to Volvo users worldwide for application systems and continuously improve system functionality and performance.
2) IT Application Developer: to design / develop / test application systems.
3) IT tester: to develop test plan / test script and execute test for application systems to ensure no bug before system launching.
Key Responsibility
1) IT Service Support
Provide excellent daily support (including trouble shooting and user request) to Volvo users worldwide to protect on-going business.
Proactively identify improvement areas including application system, business process and IT support process.
Monitor and improve system performance.
Continuously improve system functionality via developing change requests from users.
Responsible for system version upgrade activity.
Deliver IT service upon KPI and OLA.
Analyse business requirements and provide sound system solutions.
Regularly communicate with business users and customers about service level and business requirements and seek feedback.
Develop and enhance ITIL based service management processes.
2) IT Application Developer
Design system framework.
Establish coding rules.
System coding and testing.
Develop system documentation, user training materials and work instruction.
Identify the improvement opportunity and optimize the performance of system.
Analyse business requirements and provide sound system solutions.
Knowledge transfer to application management team.
3) IT Tester
· Create and maintain test cases and test scenarios.
· Gather and manage test data.
· Execute manual test cases as per defined criteria and maintain test results.
· Report test status and work status regularly to test manager and delivery lead.
· Track defect(s) and ensure all required details are added while reporting a defect
· Recognize possible testing risks and mitigate them.
· Ensure test requirements are reviewed, clear and testable
· Identify and describe opportunities for non-functional test activities
Main competence requirements
l Bachelor and/or Master degree with majors in, but not limited to, computer, automation, electrical engineering, information technology, etc..
l Strong communications skills
l Good learning agility, strong interesting in IT career development.
l Strong initiative-taking and follow-through skills, strong ownership and sense of responsibility.
l A good team player.
l Good thinking and problem solving skill.
l Excellent oral and written English skills,
l Excellent oral and written Japanese is a big plus.
l Good service mindset.
l Good understanding and experiences in MS SQL server, web based development such as .Net, ASP.Net, JavaScript, HTML, C#, and development tools such as Visio Studio is a big plus.
l Ability to work effectively in a flexible, changing and challenging environment, manage multiple activities and priorities and work well under pressure.
